Obtaining health insurance with an employer is the goal of the resettlement process.
However, health insurance may not be offered, you may find yourself in-between jobs and unsure of what to do, or unemployed.
There are several options in North Carolina if you are unemployed or in need of your own insurance.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ORANGE CARD, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE WEBSITE RESULTS (FROM ACA) SAYING YOU AND NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A HEALTH CARE PLAN BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR THE ORANGE CARD.

If you are eligible, the website will show you plans covering a wide range of prices for you to pick from. The plans will list what they cover and how much you will have to pay per month and at the doctors. These plans can add up over time so please be careful when picking a plan.

If you go to the doctors a lot, you may want to look at a plan where you more per month but less per visit. Keep in mind that the type of work you do can impact your health and may lead to you using the doctors more, i.e. a warehouse job where you do a lot of physical labor.
